Who we are and how to contact us
This policy covers the CNC Outlook website and the CNC Outlook Briefing newsletter. The operator of CNC Outlook is responsible for deciding how personal information is used for these activities.
CNC Outlook is operated by Visoo Labs — Tina Panzalovic s.p., based in Slovenia.
For privacy requests, questions about these terms, permissions or corrections, email legal@cncoutlook.com.
Visiting the website
You can read articles without creating an account or subscribing. When your browser requests a page or image, the services delivering it receive technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time. Hosting and security services may record this information to deliver the site, diagnose faults and prevent abuse.
Some editorial images are delivered by an external image service. These image requests go directly from your browser to that service. Our website fonts are hosted with the site.
We use Simple Analytics to understand readership and improve the publication. It measures page views, referral sources, broad device information and clicks on external links. Outbound click events include the destination hostname and path, without its query string or fragment. We do not send newsletter email addresses or form contents as analytics events.
Simple Analytics states that it does not use cookies, browser storage or fingerprinting, and does not store IP addresses. Our configuration includes visits when the browser’s Do Not Track setting is enabled. When JavaScript is disabled, a small image request provides basic page-view measurement. Read what Simple Analytics collects for details.
Newsletter panels display a Kit inline form and load its script automatically. CNC Outlook’s first-party scripts do not set cookies or store reader profiles in your browser. Kit’s embed and infrastructure providers can use their own cookies or similar technologies; see the newsletter section below.
The website stores a generic offline page in your browser so it can explain a connection failure. This cache does not contain articles, enquiry messages or subscriber details. You can remove it using your browser’s site-data settings.
Article search filters stories in your browser. Search words can appear in the page URL, browser history and hosting logs when that URL is requested. Avoid putting confidential or sensitive information in a search.
Advertising and sponsored content are labelled. Following an advertiser, source or social link takes you to another website with its own privacy practices. Displaying a source link does not itself send information to that destination. External links open in a new tab and include utm_source=cncoutlook.com, which identifies this publication as the referral source. This parameter does not identify an individual reader.
Correspondence and editorial reporting
If you contact us, we receive the contact details, message and any attachments you send. We use them to respond, handle corrections or permissions, and manage relevant editorial or business correspondence. Please include only information needed for your enquiry.
Our contact and advertising forms send your name, email address, optional company name and message through a server endpoint to Resend for email delivery to CNC Outlook. Enquiries are not stored in our public editorial content system and do not subscribe you to the newsletter. Technical request information may be used to prevent spam. If a spam-check widget appears, Cloudflare Turnstile processes the information needed to perform that check.
Our reporting may identify authors, interviewees, company representatives or other people relevant to a story. Information may come from interviews, direct correspondence, public announcements or other cited sources. Publication and retention of editorial material may be subject to rules protecting journalism and freedom of expression, as well as applicable privacy law.
If a story contains inaccurate personal information or raises a privacy concern, identify the article and explain the correction or request. We will assess it in the context of the reporting and applicable law.
Purposes and legal bases
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on consent for the newsletter you choose to receive; legitimate interests in operating and securing the publication, answering ordinary enquiries and managing editorial work; and contractual necessity for relevant business arrangements. Legal obligations may require certain records to be kept or disclosed. We consider the effect on individuals when relying on legitimate interests.
When we rely on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Providing an email address is necessary to receive the newsletter, but subscribing is not a condition of reading our website.
Service providers and international processing
Services used to operate the publication can include website hosting and security, editorial content and image delivery, Simple Analytics for audience measurement, email correspondence, Resend for enquiry email delivery, and Kit for newsletter delivery. They receive the information required for their role. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to address a legal claim.
Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Before finalizing this policy, we must confirm the provider list, processing locations and any applicable transfer safeguards, including contractual protections where required. Kit’s data processing terms describe its framework for subscriber processing and transfers.
No subscriber information is sent to an advertiser by the newsletter integration on this website. Clicking an advertisement separately opens the advertiser’s website.
Retention and security
Retention should be limited to the purpose for which information is held. Newsletter contact information is needed while a subscription is active. Limited consent and opt-out records may be needed afterward. Correspondence may be retained while an enquiry, business relationship or related claim remains relevant. Technical logs follow the service provider’s retention settings. Editorial archives may remain available for their continuing public interest.
The appropriate retention period depends on the type of record, its continuing purpose and applicable legal requirements. An unsubscribe action is not a promise of immediate deletion from all backups or records.
Access to personal information should be limited to people and providers who need it for their work. No website or email system can guarantee absolute security. Do not send passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information in an ordinary enquiry.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may be entitled to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its processing, receive a portable copy, or object to certain uses. You may withdraw newsletter consent at any time. Some requests can be subject to legal exceptions, including those relevant to journalism.
Use the contact details above for a request. We may need proportionate information to verify that it concerns your data. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work, or where you believe an infringement occurred. The European Commission’s explanation of data protection rights provides further information for readers covered by the GDPR.
This website is intended for a professional manufacturing audience. Its newsletter signup is optional; if you believe a child’s information has been provided inappropriately, contact us to request review.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the publication’s data practices change and revise the date shown above. Where required, we will give additional notice or seek consent before introducing a new use of personal information.
